**Manufacturing Excellence - Production capacity modeling in MOS**

**for 6 months starting on 01.02.2024**

**Who we are**:
Merck is a leading science and technology company in healthcare, life science and performance materials. Around 54,000 employees in 66 countries work to further develop technologies that improve and enhance life - from biopharmaceutical therapies to medical devices that support people living with chronic diseases.

Our site at Corsier-sur-Vevey, Switzerland, is Merck's prime hub for the manufacturing of biotech medicines for patients from all over the world and plays an instrumental role in the growth of our Healthcare business sector and the launch of new medicines. Established in 1999, the Corsier-sur-Vevey site is Merck's global center of expertise for the large-scale production of drug substances for Merck's biotech medicines making it one of the largest and most technologically advanced biotech manufacturing plants in the world with 4 production suites and 150'000 liters bioreactor capacity.

**What we offer**:
Join our Manufacturing Operational Support (MOS) team to dive into the world of operational manufacturing. Collaborate with manufacturing experts and data and digital specialists on a production capacity model project in which you will play a major role.

This dynamic opportunity will enable you to gain experience and understand the manufacturing environment and the challenges of load/capacity assessments. Interested in digitalization, you will be able to exploit production data to establish standard times and work on planning models.

To give you a more concrete idea, here are the main tasks:
You will develop and implement a methodology to measure or re-assess standard times for unit operations of the processes carried in our GMP suites.

Organized and user-oriented, you will provide production teams with a tool for collecting standard times: directly or indirectly through the analysis of electronic batch records data.

Thanks to your communication skills, you will train operational teams in your strategy and tools for measuring standard times.

Using your analytical skills, you will combine data, highlight bottlenecks and make suggestions for process improvements.

You will have the opportunity to work on powerful automated scheduling software, updating the standard times of the current model and designing a new planning model from scratch.

From a general point of view, you will collaborate with your supervisor that will provide you coaching and support during your internship. You will have close interactions with manufacturing and digital plant teams. You will be able to observe part of our manufacturing process in our manufacturing facilities, for both upstream and downstream.

The scope of this internship is a real learning process that will boost your knowledge on pharmaceutical manufacturing process and organization.

**Your profile**:

- University/Technical student in the field of biochemistry, biotechnology, chemistry or equivalent
- Team player with good communication skills
- Good analytical skills, rigorous and organized
- An agile and curious mindset is required to learn about manufacturing pharmaceutical process, both upstream and downstream
