**Job Description Summary**:
The ARES orgnization is seeking a Project Engineering Manager (PEM) that establishes and leads a project engineering team of Application / Requisition Engineers, Design Engineers and engineering contractors and ensures alignment with other functions such as Technical Compliance (TRS) and Global Services. The PEM collaborates closely with Commercial Operations during the ITO (Inventory-to-order) stage, acting as a Solution Architect, and operates in partnership with the Project Management Organization during the OTR (Order-to-Remittance) stage.
**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Provides Leadership and technical direction to the solutioning of plant based-customer oriented outcomes in the Conversion, Modification and Uprates (CM&U) part of the business
- Delivers Leadership and technical direction to engineering disciplines to own the execution of one or several projects from proposal preparation until the end of GE contractual obligations.
- Lead and manage a cross functional engineering team and executes as part of the ITR (ITO+OTR) process.
- Lead & Support the team with project offering and fulfilment activities in Complex projects, (including aspects such as NPI (New Product introduction) and Balance of plant (BOP)) in co-ordination with manufacturing, supply chain and sourcing.
- Ensure the team develops and monitors project engineering schedule and budget, tracks and prioritizes resolution of project action items and critical technical issues, and Integrates the customer/partner and GE engineering schedules into overall project schedule while managing reports on project status.
- Develops and manages project technical strategy to mitigate risk, including decisions involving the use of engineering judgment to allow the design process to proceed.
- Support and contribute expertise with reviews customer specifications and communicates contract and project requirements to all design functions utilizing internal documentation systems.
Develop and maintain project execution processes and work instruction and ensure execution of necessary project processes including preparing comprehensive proposals, conducting project kick-off, schedule reviews, regular project team meetings, lessons learned, design freeze, customer design and project reviews, as-builts, and ensures adherence to all ISO-procedures and work instructions.
- Enforces quality procedures and participate in their improvement.
- Demonstrates good commercial and contractual awareness
- Leads with a Lean mindset. Leverages Lean in the quest to reduce waste and improve customer value. Practice and promotes Lean concepts.
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong power plant engineering experience, particularly in tendering, project management, execution and fulfilment.
- Solid technical understanding of GT8, GT11, GT13, GT24/26 and SGT-800 Gas Turbine technology
- Solid understanding of plant systems and controls system architecture
- Must be able and willing to travel
