Key Responsibilities:
- Underwriting, performing quantitative and qualitative analysis of reinsurance agricultural business (crop/livestock/agri-risk) on a worldwide basis- Negotiating treaty terms and contract wording with reinsurance intermediaries and cedants- Monitoring the performance of in-force business for exposure accumulations to ensure within tolerances, premium collections, claims payments and experience estimates- Assist in business reporting and business planning activities- Methodical use of Underwriting worksheets as the means to communicate risk assessments and developments- Worldwide travel with a focus on Asian markets to maintain contacts/relationships with intermediaries & ceding companies, and to market AXIS Re and offered products- In coordination with actuarial teams, development of new models and/or evaluation of vendor models for new regions and products.

Technical Skills:
- University degree, preferably in Natural Science- 2-5 years work experience within - the reinsurance industry as underwriter (preferably agriculture) or - agriculture industry as agriculture economist/engineer- Good knowledge of worldwide agricultural markets (crop/livestock/agri-risk) with a focus on Asia- Experience with brokers, ceding companies, their markets and products are a plus- Knowledge in the use of probabilistic and statistical risk evaluation techniques-
- Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines on a seasonal basis, with significant overtime required during renewals. Be prepared to work at unusual day times due to time zones differences.- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Any additional language skills are a plus (especially Chinese or Hindu)
