The Health Economics Expert is responsible for assessing value evidence generation and developing economic and budget impact models during the development of Idorsia's new products across one or multiple therapeutic areas (as assigned). S/he should be able to work with a high level of autonomy with guidance from the Head of HEOR and in collaboration with clinical development teams within the company, using external resources as needed.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Designing economic models in view of health technology assessment and reimbursement goals for Idorsia's new products in Europe and the rest of the world, and towards market access in the United States
- Bridging clinical development approaches with market access & pricing activities
- Interacting with internal and external experts (e.g. market access & pricing, epidemiologists, patient reported outcome specialists etc.)
- Supporting Idorsia in their discussions with various authorities and organisms (e.g., health technology assessment bodies) assessing the added value of new medicinal products
- Keeping up with international developments in the field of pharmacoeconomic and outcome research
- Identifying and selecting the optimal external resources dependent on needs
- Manage interaction with members of these companies and their experts at a high technical level
- Set up and management of Scientific Experts committees
- Drives Systematic Literature Reviews (SLRs) & other literature syntheses required for clinical drug development and global value dossiers
- Leads publication efforts related to Health Economics activities and takes part in writing relevant papers
- Is an active ad hoc member of clinical development/life cycle teams and of related value and market access teams
- Health Economist with experience in Health Technology Assessment and Outcome Research
- A master’s degree (or a PhD) in health economics or a closely related degree and equivalent professional experience
- Min. of 8 years job relevant experience, some of it gained within pharmaceutical industry
- Proven record in successfully supporting submissions for health technology assessment or value dossiers to the relevant bodies, for medicinal products
- Extensive experience in providing health economic models in Excel; creating model structure, sourcing input data, performing sensitivity analyses, validation etc.)
- Capacity to capture the scientific and medical components of a new drug development program; experience in more than one therapeutic area
- Experience with patient reported outcomes
- Direct knowledge of comparative European and US approaches for value evidence generation
- Proven record of successfully analyzing complex data and the capability to translate in meaningful and stakeholder adapted outputs
- Experience in vendor management (incl. selection and contract negotiations)
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills and command of the English language
- Inspires and convinces others, gaining agreement from people; lobbies; and networks effectively with key stakeholders on all seniority levels
- Demonstrated ability to work hands-on and autonomously in a fast-paced environment, to prioritize multiple competing tasks, and to proactively address issues and demands
