Our company is seeking an accomplished Head of Legal and Compliance to oversee Legal, Compliance, and Regulatory Management within the Alpiq Group. This role is pivotal in leading the legal team, driving transformation, and embedding Alpiq's core values. You will ensure state-of-the-art legal advice and management across corporate law, commercial contracts, M&A, and litigation, supporting our diverse business operations, including project development, production, optimization, trading, and origination in both Swiss and international environments.

**Your Main Responsibilities**:

- **Legal and Compliance Leadership**: Lead and develop a decentralized team providing top-notch legal, compliance, and regulatory support. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration within the team. Ensure proactive advisory and support for all legal transactions and projects at both strategic and operational levels.
- **Business-Enabling Advice**: Provide pragmatic and sustainable legal solutions for business and corporate matters, including M&A. Act as a business-centric legal, compliance, and regulatory partner, driving initiatives that support the company's strategic goals and operational needs.
- **Assurance and Regulatory Compliance**: Ensure high standards in legal affairs, financial regulatory market integrity, and trading compliance. Drive the group-wide compliance management system with appropriate documentation and oversight, maintaining the highest standards of regulatory adherence.
- **Training and Documentation**: Initiate and conduct training on legal, compliance, and regulatory issues to build a robust knowledge base across the organization. Draft and maintain bylaws, regulations, and directives affecting the Alpiq Group, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with current laws.
- **Culture and Behavior**: Promote and exemplify Alpiq's values and culture within the legal team and the wider organization. Lead by example, ensuring the legal, compliance, and regulatory functions reflect the group's diversity and operate effectively within a decentralized model.

**Your Profile**:

- Qualified lawyer with training in German-speaking legal systems and Swiss practice.
- Over 10 years' experience in law firm and in-house legal roles, demonstrating a strong legal acumen and business orientation.
- At least 5 years’ leadership experience with a strong commercial background, capable of inspiring and developing a high-performing team.
- Excellent knowledge of the Swiss political landscape and regulatory environment.
- Expertise in energy markets and trading, with a preference for experience within energy companies or utilities.
- Proven negotiation, litigation, and corporate legal matter handling skills, with a track record of successful outcomes.
- Experience with compliance management systems and regulatory affairs, ensuring rigorous adherence to all legal and regulatory standards.
- Inspirational leader focused on continuous improvement, driving the transformation of the legal function through innovation and best practices.
- Fluency in English and German is essential; additional European languages are an advantage.
