Envision the impact you could have as the Head of Clinical Operations Learning #GCOTransformation- As a senior member of the Clinical Operations team, you will provide effective functional learning to Global Clinical Operations (GCO) Associates within the concept of Learning in the Flow of Life (knowledge management enabled, role specific, just in time learning).
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implement a lean learning in the flow of life concept with role specific, right-sized, and right-timed learning. Ensure learning efficiency with a focus on business aims, to increase and sustain a high data quality in GCO.
- Enable efficiency, quality and inspection readiness through training excellence in GCO SOPs/Systems/Trial/Sites/Admin for Novartis associates and Site Personnel.
- Along with GCO Leadership Teams define overall learning/training strategy for GCO capability building, functional learning and learning technology (role specific SOP/WP/Guidance training; GCO-system/tool training, non-vendor systems, role specific onboarding, Knowledge Management, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Site personnel training; Trial specific training, vendor training material, 3rd party training).
- Establish and maintain organizational knowledge management within GCO and be Accountable for efficient utilization of Novartis’s LMS.
- Lead multi-functional teams as appropriate to design and implement multi-disciplinary learning solutions, competency building or initiatives.
- Lead a team of specialized Learning Heads to develop and deploy learning solutions targeted for associates in alignment with GCO strategy and based on instructional design and adult learning principles.
- Accountable for GCO learning budget and responsible for GCO GxP related communications.
- Represent GCO training in Leadership Teams and respective Global Drug Development / Novartis governance boards.

**Minimum requirements**
- 12+ years’ experience in drug development process (i.e. planning/executing and/or monitoring clinical trials) and significant experience in leadership positions in the pharmaceutical industry
- Education (minimum/desirable): Advanced degree in life science (e.g. Bachelor). Additional degree/certification in adult learning/learning and development preferred
- Expert in the drug development process, including expert knowledge of international standards (GCP/ICH), health authorities (e.g. FDA/EMEA), and Novartis GCP-standards.
- Highly experienced learning and development in drug development, organizational change management, managing across cultures and leading in large cross-functional and interdisciplinary teams in a matrix environment
- Strong people management, communication, interpersonal, problem solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
