Part of the Benedict Education Group, B.H.M.S. in Luzern, Switzerland offers a range of business, hospitality and culinary programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level to approximately 800 students a year. Our mission is to provide meaningful academic and vocational training programs that are tailored to the needs of participants and the requirements of the global workplace.
B.H.M.S. is seeking an **Academic Dean** whose role is to ensure that students receive a quality education within a transparent education framework, in keeping with international standards and those of partner universities and legal and accrediting bodies. The Academic Dean will advise the Director and President on all areas related to the management and development of undergraduate and postgraduate programs and student performance.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Academic oversight of all programs offered at B.H.M.S.
- Lead academic development initiatives across the School
- Support the Director in the implementation of new initiatives and developments for students and staff
- Liaise with partner universities in all aspects of new programme development, alumni, staff development and quality assurance
- Represent B.H.M.S. at all university events when necessary.
- Lead national and international accreditation processes as determined by the President
- Liaise with the Assistant Dean : Academic Projects on potential program developments and partner institutions
- Liaise with the Director on budget approval for extra-curricular academic activities and staff development
- Support the Marketing Department in the production of accurate and transparent information on all programmers for the website and marketing materials
- Support the Admissions department in the approval of all non-standard applicants to all programmes.
- Co-ordinate academic quality control mechanisms, including class visits, module survey reviews and student feedback
- Lead and support the Course Leaders and all Faculty members in successful undertaking of their responsibilities.
- Ensure that the relevant academic policies and regulations are applied by the Course Leaders and their faculty to the respective programmes of study.
- Ensuring that certificates such as eduQua, private school registrar etc. are achieved
- Facilitate the planning, staffing, scheduling and resourcing of all programmes including the recruitment and selection of faculty members
- Ensure that appropriate systems and controls are in place to meet Kantonal requirements for international students.
- Advise and support all students that may require academic as well professional development assistance.
- Maintain currency of knowledge on higher education and education technology developments internationally.
**Your Profile**:
- Relevant Master’s degree or PhD in hospitality, tourism, marketing or business management
- Minimum 2 years program management experience in higher education
- Fluent in English; a good command of German is a plus
- Computer literate : MS Office, Teams and Moodle
- Excellent communication skills, customer-focused and diplomatic
- Team player with a proactive and positive attitude
- Proven organization and administration skills
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required
- Familiarity with the UK Higher Education system is an advantage
