The Global MES System Owner is accountable to define the strategy, roadmap and lead the implementation of the Lonza Global MES standard for our Drug Product network across Biologics and Small Molecules.

This role will be responsible to deliver the digital capabilities to enable electronic batch recording and paperless operations for new and existing assets, while ensuring the operational support across the sites.

Within Lonza Group Operations, you will be able to combine the technical know-how of IT/OT systems and processes with analytical tasks and business insights. In this position you will work in close collaboration with Global Process Owners, Site Directors, and other Global Functions (MSAT, Engineering and Quality).

Key responsibilities:

- Responsible to develop, drive and audit the implementation of the global MES strategy throughout the Lonza network.
- Responsible for the selection, design, deployment and roll-out of global standards for the operations network, including infrastructure, asset and incident management.
- Lead the effort to ensure operational functionality of the MES standard as well as compliance to cGMP in collaboration with Sites leadership teams, Global Quality Assurance and IT (security and infrastructure).
- Lead the roadmap, project portfolio and operational support for MODA-ES MES-eBR across Lonza.
- Establish and monitor SLA with the relevant vendors.
- Lead the definition (URS/FS) of functionalities and interfaces for the systems in the area of responsibilities. Interfaces in scope are with corporate systems (SAP, TrackWise, LIMS, etc.), local systems and instruments.
- Lead the effort to ensure operational functionality of the MES system as well as compliance to cGMP in collaboration with Sites leadership teams, Global Quality Assurance and IT (security and infrastructure).
- Ensure team actively manages incidents, service requests, and change queues in compliance with Lonza processes

Key requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer science or equivalent
- Leading / managing successful deployment of MES systems in regulated environments within global organizations
- Experience within Pharmaceutical Operations, Development or Manufacturing (GMP).
- GxP systems implementation or software development life cycle as well as supporting project and validation methodologies (CSV).
- Demonstrated experience effectively collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver superior business outcomes
- Highly customer-focused, with demonstrable stakeholder management experience and passionate about delivering high quality innovative solutions and services that meet business needs, which are readily scalable
- Flexibility to travel for up to 20% (both domestic & internationally)
- Deep understanding of the actual landscape of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and technologies.
- Proven Program Management skills in a complex multinational organization
