Bern Temple Facilities Assistant

This position provides technical support and maintenance for the Bern temple to ensure that the temple reflects the necessary beauty and functionality which enables patrons to have an uplifting experience during their visit.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position:

- Is responsible for the general maintenance and operation of the Temple and adjacent buildings.
- Provides necessary maintenance and repairs in accordance with established standards (Furniture, tiles, stone, artwork, wall coverings and drapes, etc).
- Maintains & makes necessary modifications to HVAC, mechanical ,and electrical systems as needed to ensure they run at maximum efficiency.
- Services and repairs laundry equipment.
- Maintains baptismal font and ensures excellent water quality.
- Maintains IT and AV infrastructure and systems.
- Participates in preparation and implementation of smaller projects.
- Willingness to work evenings, Saturdays and public holidays and to take on emergency services.
- Professional certification and technical training in one or more of the following trades:

- electrical, electronics, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, general construction, and mechanics.
- Relevant previous work experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Familiarity with applicable health and safety regulations.
- Possession of basic computer skills.
- Driving license B.
- Physically fit and able to lift 25kg.
- Desire to learn and grow professionally.
- Ability to communicate in **German and English.
