H55’s mission is to make air transport, quiet, clean and affordable. The company’s patented and certified electric propulsion and battery management technology supports several aircraft manufacturers and operators to use electric propulsion for both existing aircraft designs and future VTOL and e-Commuter concepts.
A Swiss company created in 2017 by the leadership team of Solar Impulse, André Borschberg, Sebastien Demont, and Gregory Blatt, H55 has accumulated design, development, certification, and electric flight experience. Its proven track record comes from developing 2 Solar Impulse airplanes, the only electric airplane with unlimited endurance, the Twister Aero1 acrobatic aircraft, and the Bristell Energic.
The core of H55’s proprietary technology is focused on an integrated power, propulsion and battery management system which includes battery packs, connectors, motor, motor controller, pilot interface and power controls. The company’s product offering includes a fully integrated, certified electric propulsion and battery management solutions, as well as a stand-alone energy storage and battery management systems.
H55 is financed by a reputable group of investors from Silicon Valley and Switzerland, and as such, is well positioned for its next stage of its development. The company’s short-term priorities include building up out of engineering team, putting into place production facilities, and creating a north American subsidiary.

**Your Role**:
As an Electrical System Architect, you will be part of the system engineering team where you will be involved in design, ground testing and flight testing of Electric Propulsion Systems, all performed onsite at our HQ in Sion. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Define Electric System architecture concept taking into account customer, business, certification and safety requirements.
- Drive full development cycle from initiation to integration, system test and certification at system level.
- Define system breakdown and translate high level requirements into requirements for sub-systems.
- Carry out the design and analysis of the Electrical Network of new electric propulsion systems
- Perform bench, ground and flight tests of new electric propulsion systems to quantify the performance of different architecture choices and demonstrate compliance with the requirements.
- Creation / amending the engineering content of formal deliverable documentation.
- Suggest and implement solutions for process improvement
- Oversee and supervise the work of the development team
**Your profile**:
- Passion for being at forefront of electric aerospace mobility revolution
- University degree (min. bachelor) in a relevant engineering discipline (System engineering, Aerospace engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems).
- Demonstrated experience and expertise typically 3+ years with Electrical Networks and/or Power Electronics.
- Good understanding of system development standards, either aviation specific (SAE ARP 4754; SAE ARP 4761; ASTM; DO-160 / ED-14) or equivalent standards in other industries (e.g. Automotive, Railway, Medical)
- Particular experience within complex multidisciplinary systems in which you were responsible for multiple (sub-)systems.
- Demonstrated ability to follow through and bring projects to its completion.
- Basic understanding of EASA Part 21, EASA Certification Specifications and certification principles would be an advantage.
- Target-oriented, with analytic problem-solving capabilities
- Well organized including the ability to properly document
- Capacity to prioritize, manage time effectively and multi-task
- Good communication skills
- Fluency in English (oral and written), French an asset
