Domestic Couple: Housekeeper Nanny and

A full-time live-in domestic couple is needed by a lovely family based in Ollon, Canton de Vaud, Switzerland.

The household is generally relaxed and informal, with occasional events and seasonal guests. The Family have two young children aged 3 and 8

**Start date**: End of April

**Language required**: English. French or German is a plus.

**Job Type**: Permanent, live-in and full-time 5 days per week.

**Schedule**: Week to week normal routine is five days on and two days off. Days off might not always be consecutive in the wintertime. Similarly, it may require six days a week in winter when the family entertain guests or during particularly busy periods. Time worked in lieu is taken off in summer.

**Holidays**: The family is away each summer and during school holidays in autumn so, the couple would be able to take their holidays when the family are not in residence, i.e., in summer and autumn. Christmas varies so sometimes in Switzerland, sometimes abroad and the work schedule will be amended accordingly.

The Housekeeper/Nanny will need to take on housekeeping, cleaning, laundry and occasional cooking for the children. Experience looking after children is a must. Someone who has their own children is preferable.

**Principle Duties and Responsibilities**:

- All required housekeeping skills, always keeping the property clean and tidy and organized during the day.
- A focus on general/deep cleaning/upkeep of the property, and laundry to a high standard, especially when the employer’s family is in residence.
- Ensuring that the property is fully prepared and ready prior to any visit by the employer’s family.
- Making/changing beds & preparing guest bedrooms.
- Dusting, polishing, hoovering, mopping etc all spaces within the property.
- Washing and ironing.
- Caring for high-end wardrobes and good practical knowledge of fabric care.
- Caring for art and antiques around the house and valuables, clothes etc.
- Restocking of personal items.
- Packing and unpacking.
- Shopping for fresh groceries, stock management and budget keeping.
- Occasional cooking family-style meals.
- Some serving duties when the Employer’s family visits.
- ‘Front of House’ first point of contact dealing with tradesmen, deliveries etc.
- Effectively problem-solve in order to keep the home running smoothly.
- Supporting the Handyman / Groundskeeper in all of his duties as necessary.
- Keeping detailed cost spreadsheets and invoices.
- Driving and errands including shopping for necessary provisions and supplies.
- All ad hoc babysitting.
- The occasional school runs.

The Handyman/ Gardener/Driver will involve outdoor and DIY jobs around the house. Someone with a do-it-yourself mentality is highly sought after.

**Principle Duties and Responsibilities**:

- All required handyman/groundskeeping skills, keeping the Property well maintained and fixing any issues.
- All aspects of maintenance and upkeep of the Property.
- All aspects of groundskeeping including occasional heavy work.
- Ensuring the vehicles are clean and in good running order.
- Maintain the garages in a clean and organised fashion.
- Organising and maintaining tools
- All aspects of maintaining the gardens, planting etc as per seasons, patios, terraces, and balconies
- Supporting the housekeeper in her duties as necessary.
- Helping ensure Security at the residence.
- Monitoring and maintaining the Security, Media, IT, Heating and other systems.
- Keeping detailed cost spreadsheets and invoices.
- Driving, errands including shopping for necessary provisions and supplies as well as driving guests to and from the station.

They should be comfortable helping each other as the intensity of work would vary as per requirements and they will need to help each other and vice versa.

**Requirements**:

- Swiss/EU Passport or Swiss Permit
- Strong job references
- Experience as a Nanny-Housekeeper working for private families
- Experience as a Handyman-Driver-Gardener
- English speakers. French or German is a plus
- Positive approach and easy to communicate
- Organised, polite and discreet
- A driving license is required
