**R&D Project Manager**:**

In November 2020, ABB announced the planned divestment of its Turbocharging Division. Turbocharging is a successful and profitable Division in a mature market and has been for long a highly self-reliant business within ABB, which has decided to take this step, acknowledging that for Turbocharging to realize its full potential going forward, a new setup is required. As the next step, alternative ownership options, including a spin-off to the Swiss stock market, will be assessed, considering value for customers, ABB and the future of the turbocharging business. You will contribute significantly to successful results in the development of next generation turbocharging products in ABB Turbocharging division, Baden, Switzerland. Reporting to the Team lead of Product Technology & Concepts PG7714, you will utilize your in-depth technical expertise to support the concept scouting and technology development process and in execution of research and development (R&D) projects. Your knowledge of product cost will be considered at the very beginning of development projects and ensures later financial success of the developed products adding tangible and significant value to our customers’ businesses.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Develop leading edge products, which meet and exceed customer requirements whilst ensuring operational safety and product reliability
- Work out studies and concepts for current and future products based on the input from company strategy and align them with Sales, Service, Production and Product Management Team
- Responsible for product variant analysis for present & future products and drive improvement together with Design & Engineering Teams
- Manage and collaborate in development and improvement projects
- Propose and drive optimizations of working processes which support lean development and continuous quality improvement

**Your background**:

- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably a master’s degree (or similar), combined with at least of 2 years of professional experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Profound knowledge of state-of-the-art development methods
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented, dynamic working environment
- Independent, self-organized and dedicated approach to work
- Analytical skills, ability to understand complex situations and lateral thinking to generate innovative solutions
- Fluency in English required, fluency in German is beneficial
