**Your role**

We're looking for a person motivated in legal advice and with organisational skills to:

- provide support to a team of legal experts,
- coordinate and prepare an international Conference to be held in June 2024

**Proposed internship**

Our internship of 10 months is a way to gain a work experience within an international context. It can also be an opportunity to work with and learn from experienced lawyers concerning the transportation sector (especially rail and maritime carriers).

From the beginning, the intern will be involved in the daily activities, taking part in the day-to-day legal projects with also a dedicated task to coordinate the organization of an international conference to be held in June 2024.

This is not only learning about a legal environment but also an experience in an internationally oriented workplace.

Start date : September or October 2023

Working time : 3 days/week.

City : Bern City, Switzerland

**The team**

The internship is within the CIT general secretariat in Bern and this position closely collaborates with the members of the team. The team is composed of 7 persons, all multinational and very motivated to deliver high value services and support to all the members of the CIT. Our combined efforts help, improve and preserve their activities at every stage of cooperation.

**Your expertise**

You need have completed at least a master degree in law and/or European studies, with preferably a first experience in a law firm or legal department. Skills in transportation or energy law are appreciated.

The fluency in English and German is required. The correct use of French is definitely a plus.

In particular, you have:

- good communication skills, comfortable interacting with colleagues
- an interest in legal matters,
- a structured work style and organisation-oriented,
- an open-minded and cooperative personality
- practice of Windows, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook

Preferably Swiss national or with a residence permit valid until July 2024.

The International Rail Transport Committee (CIT) is an association of over 200 railway undertakings and shipping companies that operate international passenger and/or freight transport services.

CIT helps railway undertakings to implement international transport law, standardising contractual relationships and creating legal certainty to save members money and support their business.
