Sandoz is looking to recruit an ESO Strategy & Transformation Lead.
Our External Supplier Organization (ESO) creates and enhances value for Sandoz and its patients by providing timely access to innovative, external manufacturing capabilities for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Finished Dosage Forms which complement our internal network.
The ESO Strategy & Transformation Lead will play an instrumental role in delivering the ESO Strategy, through leading the ESO Transformation agenda.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic Support and Alignment: Understand and prioritize strategic imperatives for ESO to shape the organization's strategic agenda. Provide support to the Head ESO in reviewing and aligning the strategic direction of the function. Act as a trusted advisor, aiding in effective decision-making processes.
- Leadership in Transformation: Define and lead strategic initiatives for ESO, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders in STO (Sandoz TechOps)/Sandoz. Manage interdependencies and ensure ESO transformation aligns with STO strategy and portfolio decisions. Translate implications of Sandoz and STO business decisions into the ESO supplier roadmap. Contribute to the decision-making process as needed.
- Supplier Network Optimization: Drive significant simplification and optimization of external supplier footprint over a 5 year horizon
- Resource Oversight: Oversee project resources to ensure the ESO transformation agenda is executed in a timely manner. Shape ESO organization, resourcing, and capabilities for day-to-day operations as the supplier footprint evolves.
- Governance and Reporting: Implement appropriate governance and reporting mechanisms to provide visibility of progress for each workstream and phase of the transformation roadmap. Establish targets, metrics, and methodologies to measure progress for each workstream.
- Change Management and Communication: Prepare and roll out communications and change management interventions to ensure impacted teams are aware and engaged in the transformation journey. Facilitate collaboration with external thought leaders and partners to establish leading-edge ESO approaches.
- Collaboration and Partnership: Ensure proper business partnering and strong collaboration with Head of Strategy STO and Sandoz Transformation Office Team. Collaborate effectively with Development, BD&L, and the Commercial Regions for successful project outcomes.
- Global Representation: Represent the Head ESO at global committees and meetings as necessary.

Minimum Requirements
What you'll bring to the role:
- 11 years of relevant business experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in a Generics environment, or related field of which at least 5 years spent in External Manufacturing/CDMO
- Leadership experience in an international environment
- Track record of successfully leading and delivering transformation programmes
- Experienced in ideating and delivering large scale change initiatives
- Skilled in managing a geographically dispersed team and solid experience in working in a virtual team
- Expert in understanding financial data and Finance KPIs
- Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Effective communication and influencing skills, ability to convince and persuade others
- Ability to think globally and act locally combining strategic thinking and excellence in execution with strong accountability and responsibility for achieving results
- Resilience and ability to prioritise when facing conflicting demands and high workload
- Ability and motivation to bring our Sandoz Values to live
- Degree in science, technical or business discipline required; MA degree in Business Administration or Project Management an advantage
