Principal Scientist

BioTalent are partnered with a ground-breaking biotechnology company based in southern Switzerland, specialising in biophysics drug discovery and research and have a passion for their people and culture.

We are supporting them with their search for a Principal Scientist specialising in bioassays responsible for leading a team of scientists with a range of skills including cellular and molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, and protein engineering. You will lead projects and an innovative team to develop new technologies in the field of computer-aided protein engineering and drug discovery as well as conduct some laboratory work yourself (approximately 40%)

You will be responsible for:

- Ensure efficient and productive workflows within the team.
- Work closely with other groups within the R&D team to deliver solutions or improvements in protein design and biological testing.
- Communicate experimental and project progress to the leadership team.
- Generate scientific content for manuscripts, meetings and conferences.
- Support and manage relationships with internal and external partners.
- Keep up with the latest technologies and techniques in order to provide recommendations for improvement.

You will bring the following:

- PhD in a biology related field.
- Great managerial experience in an industrial setting.
- Experience with a wide range of cell based assays.
- Excellent communication skills to present complex technical information to a wide range of internal teams and leadership.
