Jurist/lawyer Latam Freelancer

**Your Role**

In this position you will succeed a LATAM lawyer of many years standing. You will work closely with the CEO and collaborate with law firms across LATAM. Traveling to LATAM occasionally and if necessary.

**Your Responsibilities**
- Undertake accurate and timely assessment in a variety of claims; provide timely clarification on the debtor and possible recovery scenarios
- Draft settlement agreements and other legal documents to ensure clients’ full legal rights
- Whenever needed, this service includes personal meetings with debtors in case of significant single claims or a basket of claims in one country (LATAM excl. Brazil)
- Coordinating lawsuits with local lawyers in case an amicable settlement failed

**Your Profile**
- Self-starter with strategy consulting experience
- Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in an international business environment
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of commercial law and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to create legal strategies and to negotiate on CEO/CFO level by phone and in person
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity
- Sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information
- Outstanding communication skills: Spanish mother tongue, fluent English and/or German required
- BSc (or comparable) degree in Law and/or J.D. degree from a LATAM University
