Master in Design** - **Space and Communication***
MA Space and Communication is a Master in Design exploring the convergence of space and media as
interface for communication to produce 1:1 design installations.
Placing emphasis on the generation of complex multi-mediatic and multi-sensorial productions, their
outputs span from installations to films and performances that ask viewers and participants to engage in a
more meaningful relationship with design and the themes of investigation.
Favouring collaborations with MAIA Master in Interior Architecture, Fashion and Accessories Design,
and Media Design, external partners and combining personal and collective research, the UAS
assistant is involved in pedagogical, organisational and administrative activities, under the
responsibility of a head of orientation, in close contact with the teaching team and the administrative
and technical staff.
**Main elements of the mission**:
- Participation in the implementation of the educational programme
- Supervision of workshops: monitoring the timetable, management of equipment and rooms,
preparation of teaching materials
- Support of students' practical work and contribution to theoretical seminars
- Carrying out and producing commissions or projects with external partners
- Participation in orientation events
- Preparation and editing of printed and online publications
- Organisational and administrative activities
- Administrative follow-up and organisation of orientation activities (study trips, exhibitions,
events, etc.)
- Management of orders and expenses incurred for guidance workshops and projects
- Follow-up for guest speakers, internal information and external communication for the
programme
- Possible research activities in the areas of the Master orientation and/or following a
qualification course
**Profile**:
- Graduate of a university, Master's degree desired
- Experience of the contemporary design scene with a network of national and international
relations
- Ability to follow a course of study under the guidance of a teacher
- Ability to master the technical means to carry out projects of all sizes (model, wood, plastic,
prototyping, technical drawing and software: Rhino, Adobe, Illustrator, Indesign, fusion360°,
CURA etc.)
- Interest in teaching and in theoretical and practical research
- Ability to take the initiative; organisational skills, flexibility and a taste for teamwork
- Good knowledge of office software (word processing, spreadsheet)
- Good writing skills in French and English
- A strong taste for research to carry out experimental design projects
- Human and organisational qualities
- Regular and weekly availability is required
- Outside activity in the field of the contemporary design scene.
Particularities of the position:
The grade for the position of UAS assistant is grade 8 - grade 0, for holders of a Bachelor's degree,
and grade 9 - grade 2, for holders of a Master's degree.
