Job Summary
The core function of the Non-Life Reserving team is the estimation of the reserve adequacy of the Zurich and Italy Branches of SCOR P&C, while developing contribution to multi-functional projects within P&C Reserving beyond the Hub.
Key duties and responsibilities
lead the quarterly and annual reserving process of one or more global specialty lines of business, manage quarterly communication to Claims, Underwriting and Pricing teams and coordinate with local reserving managers across P&C Reserving,
support the local P&C Reserving team with the introduction of IFRS 17,
support the Actuarial Function Holder of SCOR P&C Irish entities with the review of the internally assumed business and Solvency II reporting,
interact with reserving teams from other Hubs of P&C BU, in particular through worldwide working groups to improve actuarial practices within the P&C Business Unit and separately to gain understanding of the internally assumed business to SCOR P&C Irish entities
Required experience & competencies
**Experience**:
- 5 years experience in reserving in an actuarial department of an insurance / reinsurance / consulting company.
**Personal Competences**:
Strong written and verbal communication skills (English), good presentation skills. German or French knowledge would be an advantage.
Good social skills required, enjoys working in a team environment and sharing knowledge
Good analytical skills, fast comprehension of complex matters
Proactive, autonomous with a solution-oriented approach
A personality capable of working efficiently across cultural boundaries
Knowledge of reinsurance, familiarity with Solvency II and IFRS 17
Knowledge in data science would be an advantage
Computer skills
Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 apps (incl VBA)
Good knowledge of reserving tools (ResQ) and processes
Knowledge of SQL software (Web Intelligence / Business Object), programming languages (Python) and data visualization tools would be an advantage
Required Education
College graduate preferably in Actuarial Science or Mathematics/Statistics
Fully qualified actuary (i.e. SAV, ACAS, FCAS or FIA)
