To drive this mission, C4IR is establishing the Head of Frontier Technologies position in Geneva, Switzerland. This role will lead and expand frontier technology communities and initiatives, reinforce strategic technology foresight, and shape global, regional, and industry discourse on adopting human-centric, society-serving frontier technologies.

Reporting Lines & Interactions
This role is based in Geneva, Switzerland, reporting to the Co-Head of the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The Head of Frontier Technologies will manage four core technology units and collaborate across global teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, maintaining partnerships with independent C4IR Centres and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
The Head of Frontier Technologies will oversee frontier technology units within C4IR, including autonomous vehicles, bioeconomy, quantum computing, and space technologies. This role requires close collaboration with other practice areas within C4IR and other Forum Centres globally.

Primary Duties:
- Team Leadership: Oversee an interdisciplinary team, mobilize stakeholders, shape frameworks and policies, and address complex societal challenges.- Project Management: Ensure teams meet targets, timelines, and budgets through effective management of people, projects, and processes, as well as clear communication and reporting.- Strategic Foresight: Drive systematic foresight to identify key technologies, individuals, and institutions, and lead the Forum’s "10 Emerging Technologies" annual report.- Framework and Narrative Development: Lead the development of institutional frameworks around the impact of emerging technologies on society, economy, and governance.- Community Building: Cultivate high-level communities of experts and decision-makers to guide relevant workstreams.- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage C4IR Centres to build on and contribute to Forum initiatives, using user-centric methodologies to move from idea to impact.- Collaborative Environment: Work across teams and geographies, building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Requirements and Experience- Academic Background: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., public policy, business administration, management).- Professional Experience: 10+ years in public administration, government affairs, or similar roles; experience establishing and leading operations across sectors and jurisdictions is a plus.- Communication Skills: Proficient in cross-sector, multi-cultural communication; English fluency is essential; additional languages are beneficial.- Strategic Insight: In-depth knowledge of transformative technology trends, actors, and ecosystems; interest in global affairs.- Results-Oriented: Proven capability in agile methodologies and data-driven decision-making for complex business processes.- Leadership Skills: Experienced in leading and inspiring teams in high-energy environments, fostering a high-performance culture.- Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in building networks with senior leaders across sectors, influencing at senior levels, and forming partnerships.- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of the technology policy landscape, including governing bodies and leading institutions; experience with technology policy (e.g., regulations, standards) is a plus.
