1 MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT

To align and harmonize technology, digital and data capabilities across the WWF Network to

enable operational excellence and conservation impact at scale while safeguarding the

organization and the people we work with, through fit for purpose solutions that are device and

hardware agnostic, mobile functional, built on secure and scalable cloud enabled technology

platforms and are consistently delivered and supported anytime anywhere.

2 MAJOR FUNCTIONS
- Accountable for the envisioning and delivery of the WWF Global Data strategy, as well as

coordinating efforts and providing strategic guidance across the Network with regard to data

governance, data management and data analytics.
- Responsible for overseeing the data management and analytics operations of our federated

network consisting of 100+ offices and plays a critical role in developing and implementing

data strategies, ensuring data integrity, driving data-driven decision-making, fostering data

literacy, and spearheading the development of a common data model for the organization.
- Strong technical expertise and leadership, strategic thinking, excellent communication skills,

and a focus on data governance and platform development.

3 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Executive Team and key Network leaders,

to develop a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's goals and

objectives, and an implementation roadmap sponsored and steered by the Executive Team

and key representatives of all regions and key offices.
- Data Analytics and Reporting: Lead the development and implementation of data analytics

initiatives to derive actionable insights and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Drive the development of standardized reporting frameworks and dashboards to monitor key

performance indicators (KPIs) and track organizational progress.
- Data Quality and Governance: Develop and build the WWF’s Framework for governing Data

& Analytics and a roadmap for launching this framework in phases, including data governance

policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, compliance, and data literacy

across the Executive Team and Senior Leadership team.
- Establish data quality standards and ensure adherence across the network. Implement data

governance practices to improve data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Identify and mitigate data-related risks and issues and develop and deliver data literacy

programs for the senior leadership team to enhance their understanding and utilization of

data.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders,

including program managers, IT teams, and executives, to understand data needs and

requirements.
- Partner with external stakeholders, such as vendors and data partners, to enhance data

capabilities, leverage external data sources, and promote data sharing through the open data

platform.
- Actively contribute to organization-wide debates and policy-making on data management,

data analysis, digitalization, operational organization, data protection, program/project

management and other related areas.
- Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing data team

responsible for data management, analytics, and reporting.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members

and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Emerging Technologies and Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging

technologies, and best practices in data management and analytics.
- Evaluate and recommend innovative tools and techniques to enhance data capabilities,

platform development, and drive efficiency.

4 PROFILE

Required Qualifications.
- Education: Advanced University degree in statistics, Data Science or other relevant field.
- Professional IT certifications relevant to cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, service

management and/or project management fields
