Scientific Director

Vifor Pharma a world leading Nephrology, Iron Deficiency and Cardio-Renal pharmaceutical company, we are experiencing rapid growth due to pipeline realization, optimization and innovative alliance partnerships on a global basis. At this time we are seeking to appoint a scientific director within our nanomedicines group

You will provide scientific input for the development and implementation of the Nanomedicines-related strategy to maximize the global value proposition of Iron Franchise and assesses technologies under consideration by Vifor Pharma from the scientific and regulatory perspectives as well as fostering a network in the space and the scientific contributions with relevant professional bodies. You must have experience within an industrial setting of complex chemistry relating to nanoparticles ideally for Iron/Carbohydrate complexes.

Activities
- Provide scientific input for specific Iron-Franchise related cross-functional projects, such as LCM project, publication steering committee, competitors strategy, and regulatory support with a focus on Nanomedicines considerations
- Contributes to the scientific discussion by publications and participation at scientific symposia, Advisory Boards and Working Groups
- Provide scientific input and product expertise to the Medical information
- Provide scientific input to research projects Nanomedicine

Minimum Requirements
- Strong scientific background (Ph.D., Pharm. D.)
- Demonstrated ability to accurately and effectively evaluate scientific literature
- Track record of scientific publications and speaker at symposia
- Knowledge of nanoparticle chemistry preferably for iron carbohydrate complex
- Familiar with CMC concepts for complex drugs
- Understanding of preclinical study design and conduct as well as medical aspects of therapeutic areas along with willingness to develop in-depth expertise
- Professional level in English, both in oral and in written communications
- Excellent user of Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Requirements
- 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with regulatory, safety and legal implications
- Experience working in cross-functional projects and teams
