At a Group level, our company purpose is to enable a healthier world. The MPTI department is supporting Lonza with this mandate through cross-divisional collaboration, standardization and innovation. In your role as MPTI Trainee - Analytical Testing & Material Science, you support global harmonization, simplification and scalability efforts in the context of manufacturing and connected technologies. You will closely collaborate with our partners in the divisions and corporate functions. More information on Lonza’s vision, purpose and strategy can be found here.

Key responsibilities:

- Contribute to the ongoing improvement initiatives of the MPTI programs by assisting in their development, implementation, and tracking across both divisional and cross-divisional projects.
- Identify and promote opportunities for process optimization, simplification, and automation, ensuring best practices are shared and adopted across the organization.
- Assist in organizing internal workshops and communication efforts, including preparing agendas, recording meeting minutes, and managing action lists. Support initiatives that foster engagement and collaboration within the team.
- Provide ad hoc support to MPTI Functions Lead Team Members as needed.
- Collaborate closely with peers and stakeholders from various corporate functions to ensure seamless cooperation and alignment of goals.
- Participate in the issuance, review, or approval of project-related documentation to maintain quality and compliance.
- Support the preparation of MPTI reports by gathering information, analyzing data, creating visual representations, and following up on necessary actions.

Key requirements:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in IT tools, particularly MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio). Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or Planview is an advantage.
- Highly self-driven with strong problem-solving abilities, capable of understanding both detailed and strategic perspectives to deliver practical solutions. Demonstrates strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Effective influencing abilities, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Capable of engaging with various levels and functions across the organization. Persistent and resilient in approach.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
- Willingness to handle administrative tasks as needed.
- Proactive in anticipating and addressing stakeholders' needs.
- Experience with LEAN methodologies is a plus.
- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of German is beneficial.
