We are developing a breakthrough proton therapy system that will maximise the destructive effect of radiation on tumours whilst minimising damage to patients’ healthy tissues; revolutionising the way that we can save lives.
We’re looking for a **Clinical Office Technologist** with a broad experience in radiotherapy (RT) workflows, such as localization, treatment delivery, patient management, and patient care to join our Clinical Office team.
**What will you do?**
You will assume a significant role in the Clinical Office and participate in meeting the overall clinical and developmental Radiation Therapy technology needs of the Company. You will be involved in development of projects involving clinical systems in Proton Therapy.
- Be familiar with: the general concepts guiding Radiation Therapy, and the overall clinical workflow (including imaging considerations) for Proton Therapy; managing accurate radiation services to patients; patient management and care; and overseeing the clinical operations of the Radiation Oncology patient treatment areas of the health care system
- Conduct user research; analyze and characterize use-related risks; provide input on designs to reduce use-related errors; and conduct formative and summative usability testing of products, prior to launch
- During new product development - work closely with design engineers, interaction designers, clinical engineers, and product managers to inform and guide development of new products, and to ensure those products are safe and easy to use. After product launch - work with post-market surveillance to monitor, investigate, and respond to use-related safety issues
- Product development deliverables will include, but are not limited to: -Usability engineering files, task analyses, usability risk analyses, usability testing throughout the product development process, from formative testing of early prototypes through usability validation of final designs, validation test reports and human factors engineering reports
- Evaluate technical quality of treatments, and establish clinical operations policies and procedures
- Define and oversee clinical workflows, contribute to requirements and specifications of the Proton Therapy subsystems
- Develop and implement process improvement projects
- Make critical decisions regarding clinic operations and machine downtime plans
- Supervise and train all therapy personnel
- Advise management on appropriate capital equipment acquisitions
- Assist in meeting goals and objectives, and oversee proper charge capture procedures for radiation therapy services
- Oversee chart audits for charging, and educate therapy staff on the billing process
**What are we looking for?**
- Proven work experience in RT, with an understanding of RT workflows
- Have a willingness to learn independently and a desire to continuously develop skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for interactions with patients and a wide range of healthcare professionals
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Ability to work independently on complex R&D projects
- Ability to keep abreast of current regulatory developments with respect to Radiation Oncology and issues affecting hospital policies and procedures
- Willingness to travel on a regular basis
**Not mandatory but let us know if you have**:
- A certification as a Medical Dosimetrist, Radiation Therapy Technologist, Senior Radiation Therapist, or similar
- Experience in Proton Therapy
- A Bachelor of Science in Radiotherapy, or similar
