**Context & Mission**:
Médecins Sans Frontières is an international independent medical-humanitarian organisation, which offers assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters and to victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.

Operational Centre in Geneva (MSF OCG) is one of six Operational Centres and directly manages medical assistance programmes in more than 30 countries worldwide. These operational programs are implemented by field teams, including coordination teams, in each country of operation.

MSF OCG has made Diversity, Equity and Inclusion a high priority as stated in its 2020-2023 strategic plan. We are looking for a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion “DEI” Lead that will oversee the DEI strategy and action plan implementation for improved diversity, equity and inclusion within the organisation and our field operations.

The DEI Lead will engage with stakeholders across OCG and the MSF movement to ensure the adoption of a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture and practices in OCG. The position works in collaboration with field teams, departments and OCG leadership to ensure actions are implemented according to the overall OCG DEI strategy and planning.

The DEI Lead is expected to spend a minimum of 50% of their time traveling to support field missions and hubs in the development and implementation of action plans that are contextualized to each country and/or region.

**Scope of Responsibilities**:
**_ Oversee the implementation of the MSF OCG DEI strategy & provide strategic advice _**

Through a participatory and inclusive process:

- Advance Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in support of MSF OCG’s social mission and ensure that the organization's culture values DEI
- Promote Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging across the organisation
- Provide strategic advice to managers and staff for the planning, development and implementation of DEI programs and action plans
- Ensure DEI is addressed as cross-cutting issue mainstreamed in programs, actions and activities and relevant policies
- Lead OCG debates around DEI and support the development of new policies, processes, and systems to help advance the DEI agenda

**_ Lead the development of field-based DEI initiatives and action plans_**
- Guide and support OCG field teams in countries of operations to develop DEI strategies and action plans
- Provide DEI advice to staff in field missions and regional hub offices,
- Ensure field teams have access to relevant and necessary DEI resources (from OCG, MSF and external resources) and benefit from sharing of lessons across OCG and the MSF Movement
- Act as functional and technical support for DEI focal points
- Ensure monitoring and reporting of actions taken at field level
- Liaise with other MSF offices to share learnings and resourcing for different approaches to developing and implementing field-based DEI initiatives

**_ Responsible for action plan key deliverables _**
- Regularly review existing policies, processes, and systems to identify barriers to DEI and recommend possible changes
- Collaborate closely with all OCG departments to identify DEI gaps and support them to identify and implement solutions to overcome those gaps
- Collaborate closely with the HR Department to ensure policies and practices are in place for OCG to be a more inclusive and equitable employer, adopt workplace actions to advance the DEI and Belonging agenda.
- Ensure relevant DEI actions are included in operations planning (for example, mixity of field teams)
- In cooperation with the L&D unit, deliver DEI training and awareness raising activities
- Collaborate closely with the Abuse and Behavior unit to ensure policies and systems are in place to protect patients and staff from abuse, harassment and discriminations of any kind
- Ensure the elimination of gender-based barriers that limit access, participation, permanence and promotion of women in the organization.

**_ Monitoring and Evaluation of DEI strategy and actions_**
- Coordinate the implementation of monitoring systems, including developing the necessary tools and compiling the necessary information from the different departments.
- Lead the discussions and get the consensus around Key Performance Indicators “KPIs” in OCG and participate in such discussions across the movement
- Coordinate/conduct needed baseline studies, in collaboration with the necessary departments
