Procurement Director, AMP-E (M/F/d)
**Role Description**:
The position holder is accountable for a spend of ~$1.5billion. The scope of the role covers all the European spend in the following categories: Aluminium Can sheet, Tinplate, ODM’s, Capex and Indirect Categories (including MRO’s and Consumables)
The role holder is responsible for generating and implementing effective sourcing strategies, category management practices and has significant direct impact on the financial performance of Ardagh through the delivery of cost reductions and working capital improvement.
This role places emphasis on business partnering, deployment of category strategies and clean governance:
- Internal partnering: understanding the regional business and customer demands, both supporting and challenging needs where appropriate
- Externally partnering through supplier collaboration initiatives which include preferential access to capacity, inno-vation, value engineering, and to achieve the AMP sustainability targets, in particular CO2 reductions.
- Ensure that AMP is not exposed to undue risks due to non-compliance of supply flow, financial, corporate responsibility, and ethical behaviour.
The role reports to the CPO AMP and has a matrix reporting line to the CEO AMPEU. As such the role serves on the leadership teams of both the global procurement team and that of the European business unit.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Category Strategy
Support the strategy development for global categories, ensuring regional specifics is considered and adapted accordingly
Lead the strategy development for regional and local categories
Develop a vision and strategic objectives for regional categories by assimilating business requirements and supply market analysis, negotiation strategy, cost modelling, system/technology requirements, Continuous improvement
Drive effective cross functional collaboration with the regions
Category Management
Seamlessly deploy global category strategies within the regions in service of cost and cash optimization.
Build robust and agile supply chains that enable a competitive supply landscape
Oversee all legal contracting activities for the region
Deploy expertise in commodity risk management to influence and improve internal risk management pro-cesses (including risk reporting)
Provide input and influence the use and development of key e-tools e.g. contract management, spend and transaction reporting
Oversee regional supplier relationship management activities, selectively involving directly with significant sup-pliers and ensuring business counterparts are equally as engaged
Own the supplier decarbonization and sustainability programs for the region, including deployment of new technologies / innovations. Understand the implications of the regional regulatory radar and ensure product / service solutions are deployed accordingly
Business Partnering
Actively participate in Business Units leadership team engagements, representing and owning the procure-ment agenda
Initiate, drive, and support cross functional value and business initiatives
Ensure relevant regional forums and effective performance-tracking measures are in place
Team Management
Set-up proper resources allocation and means according to category’s objectives as well as business priori-ties
Support the CPO and Procurement Leadership team by championing procurement process and technology improvements projects.
Lead by example in deploying the global/regional / local collaboration matrix
Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and encourage close liaison between regional procurement heads and category leads to improve the overall performance of the team
Governance and Process
