The Research Unit «Forest Soils and Biogeochemistry», conducting integrative research on various aspect of the soil, from biogeochemical processes to soil biodiversity and its functions. The Research Group Rhizosphere Processes (Soil Microbial Ecology) is looking for
**4 months** for a highly motivated

Intern in Microbiology / Ecology 80-100% (f/m/d)

You will work in a research project dealing with soil biodiversity. You will collect soil samples in the field and will be responsible for processing and sending the soil samples to partners from a larger research consortium within a Horizon Europe project. You will also help with laboratory work such as extractions of organisms and DNA from soil, quantitative PCRs, and preparations of the DNA extracts for sequencing.

You hold a Bachelor or Master degree in biology or environmental sciences, with a background in microbiology and/or ecology. You speak German, can speak, and write well in English and have excellent communication skills. You have a high level of team spirit and hold a driving licence B.
