Zurich, Schweiz InterAx Biotech AG Vollzeit

InterAx Biotech is pioneering experimental and computational systems biology approaches, combined with
machine learning, for quantification of drug effects on signaling networks. This gives deeper insight into drug
network effects before the drugs enter clinical trials.
The company is a growing Biotech based between Zurich and Basel, two important pharma/biotech hubs in
Switzerland. We are a friendly, dynamic, inter-disciplinary and multi-national team aiming to transform
preclinical drug discovery with new tools focusing on cellular networks. We currently focus on the largest
class of drug targets - GPCRs. In addition to the technology platform, InterAx runs an in-house anti-cancer
drug discovery program.
We are offering a position in the field of assay development and drug screening as Scientist Discovery &
Pharmacology.
You are a highly motivated, fully committed scientist with a strong profile in pharmacology. You have the
know-how to independently lead GPCR drug discovery projects and you enjoy working in an international
environment.
Primary responsibilities
Develop and perform in vitro cell-based signaling studies to characterize GPCRs therapeutics
Integrate the latest scientific knowledge to identify relevant cell systems / assays for a better biological
and mechanistic understanding of the target-disease relationship
Independently plan (including resources and personnel), execute, troubleshoot and interpret
experiments aiming at the discovery of new drug leads
Supervise co-workers and lead external research collaborations
Co-lead projects in a multidisciplinary team with biology and chemistry disciplines to constantly develop
and refine the strategic direction of projects
Clearly analyze and communicate scientific findings in written and verbal form
Education
PhD in Pharmacology, Cell Biology or related discipline.
Communicate project results internally and externally (e.g. to clients) via presentations and publications.

**Qualifications**:
Significant hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture and in-depth knowledge of cellular signaling
pathways.
Strong background in pharmacology, preferentially with a focus on GPCRs
Knowledge of data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism or R
Experience with designing and analyzing in vivo (mice) experiments is a plus
Experience in supervising, planning and managing projects and resources
