Main Responsibilities include:
- Support the qualification of the new CDC-50 unit including material handling and ancillary equipment.
- Highly knowledgeable about Continuous Tablet Compression equipment and it’s components. Including setup, operation, and routine maintenance of Loss In Weight powder feeders, inline blenders, tablet presses and their auxiliary equipment.
- Support scaling up processes from small scale to production scale, ensuring a smooth transition while maintaining product quality.
- Can diagnose and address equipment issues promptly, minimizing downtime and production interruptions.
- Expertise to make real-time adjustments to process parameters within qualified range to maintain product quality and yield.
- Actively identify opportunities for process optimization, including adjustments to improve tablet quality, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
- Via collaboration with DPD, MS&T and other functions, participate to the technology transfer of Drug Product from Drug Product Development (DPD) to Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) late stage and launch facility Boudry.
- Represent Manufacturing operations in manufacturing readiness meetings for new compounds.
- Provide training to operators, supervisors and junior staff, imparting expertise and best practices.
- Is the go-to expert for troubleshooting complex issues related to continuous direct compression.
- Utilize PAT tools, it’s data handling and techniques to monitor and control key process parameters in real-time.
- Ability to analyze manufacturing data and use statistical tools to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement.
- Participates in all manufacturing activities of assigned batches making sure that all activities are performed in accordance with approved SOPs and company policies.
- Responsible for contributing to and/or leading quality investigations, change controls and generation of SOPs and Cleaning Instructions.
- May represent Manufacturing Boudry as prime technical contact with regards to Continuous Manufacturing technology.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a cGMP Pharmaceutical manufacturing/technical environment or Bachelor’s Degree in Science with direct experience in Continuous Manufacturing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation, process development, or manufacturing technology of small molecule oral solid dosage.
- Basic understanding of Near Infrared Spectroscopy.
- Basic understanding of Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor models.
- Advanced understanding of Loss In Weight feeder systems.
- Previous hands-on experience in Continuous Manufacturing is a must.
- Previous experience and/or proficient knowledge in Process Analytical Technology.
- General knowledge of Automation and Statistical Analysis.
- Demonstrated record of implementing creative solutions to overcome process-related obstacles.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment.
