** Medical Advisor Vaccines & Pipeline Product (M/F/d)**

Our Medical Affairs team advances patient care by engaging in scientific exchange with external medical experts and industry leaders ensuring the scientific value of our products is comprehended. We unite, communicate and train internal employees to ensure a thorough comprehension of the science behind the medicine and review further unmet medical needs to support collaboration to further differentiate our portfolio.

The Medical Advisor (M/F/d) is part of the Country Medical Affairs Department and serves as the country scientific expert in Vaccines as well as for a Pipeline Product and will be reporting to the vaccines Medical Affairs Lead.

Internal key interactions are with the Brand & Customer Manager, Business Unit Lead, Sales Manager and Customer Representatives in the therapeutic areas, as well as cross-functional collaborations with Policy and Communications, Market Access, Regulatory and the Clinical Trial Operations team.

External key interactions are with Scientific Leaders (SLs) as well as with multiple external stakeholders in the field. An important responsibility will be to translate customer insights into strategic imperatives for respective therapeutic areas to achieve our scientific and business goals.

Main activities include but are not limited:
**General**:

- Develop and execute Country Medical Affairs Plan for assigned indications
- Budget responsibility (planning, tracking and spending) for respective area

**Scientific Leadership**:

- Scientific Exchange on a regular basis with defined SLs and dissemination of information about the latest development in the assigned indications
- Develop and maintain strong scientific network
- Develop projects with SLs and other stakeholders to facilitate adoption of best medical practices for physicians, health care institutions and patients
- Organize and lead local advisory boards and expert input forums
- Hold balanced and scientific presentations about the disease area, vaccines, therapies and latest developments in context with assigned products/indications and competitors
- Provide support to marketing and sales for assigned products/indications
- Collect customer needs from SLs and provide insights to cross-functional team
- Setup and management of IIS (Investigator initiated studies) and non-interventional LDG (Local data generation) studies
- Close collaboration with RDMA (Regional Director Medical Affairs) within region on strategic priorities

**Internal Support**:

- Provide scientific input and set strategic direction for respective indication related to Medical Affairs activities, ensuring alignment with global strategy and adherence to all relevant regulations and SOPs
- Provide scientific input to market access related strategies and activities
- Facilitate the inclusion of company products and vaccines in hospital formularies, in the local national immunization plan and in local therapeutic guidelines as appropriate
- Lead pre-launch medical activities
- Respond to medical inquiries from local customers related to the assigned indications that are not covered by the Medical Services group
- Medical Legal Review of Promotional material for the assigned products/indications.

**Qualifications**:

- MD, Pharmacist (PharmD) or life science degree with PhD
- Fluency in English and fluency in German are required, skills in French are beneficial
- 3-5 years of experience within the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry; preferably work experience in Medical Affairs function or a thorough understanding of this function
- Strong scientific baseline knowledge, understanding of clinical trials methods, implementation and interpretation of clinical data, sound scientific and clinical judgment, and an eagerness to continue to learn more
- Outstanding communication, negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to function within a team environment
- Strong, confident and engaging presentation skills
- A proactive "can do" attitude and passion for the therapeutic area
- Strategic planning skills including ability to translate scientific strategy into tactical and implementation plans, with a strong focus on execution excellence and compliance
- Strong customer facing, listening, and probing skills
- Excellent networking and partnerships skills with ability to work in a matrix organization, simultaneously handling multiple tasks and working under pressure
