Assistant Custodial Supervisor Bern

Under the supervision of the custodial supervisor, the incumbent serves as the lead custodian or as the acting custodial supervisor in the supervisor's absence. The incumbent performs heavy custodial duties to keep the assigned buildings, temple, or work areas in a clean and orderly condition. The incumbent also watches for safety and other hazards. Incumbent also oversees the volunteer efforts at the temple, which include ongoing scheduling, training, and coordination with local wards and stakes.
- Cleans floors, walls, furniture and other building furnishings; sanitizes restrooms, and disposes trash.
- Renovates and renews surfaces by using special equipment and products.
- Operates scrubbers, buffers, waxers, vacuums, and helps keep equipment in working condition.
- Moves furniture, supplies,and miscellaneous equipment as needed.
- May clean chandeliers, fixtures, and wood paneling from ladders or scaffolding; hang curtains or drapes from ladders; remove snow from sidewalks.
- Under the direction of the supervisor, the incumbent gives work direction to other custodians. May give input to the supervisor on performance of custodians, recommends merit increases, reviews time cards, etc...
- Provides training to other custodians to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Responsible to coordinate all custodial volunteer efforts at the temple.
- Performs other duties and attends meetings as assigned.
- 2 years of custodial, maintenance, or related training and at least 2 years seasoned custodial experience in a large building of 125,000 square feet of floor space or larger, or complex of buildings.
- 1 year supervisory experience.Good communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of custodial maintenance including custodial suppliers and cleaning chemicals.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operation of buffers, waxers, carpet cleaners, vacuums, and other equipment.
