Lonza in Visp is looking for a CAPEX Lead for Infrastructure Projects. The CAPEX Lead is responsible for the design, execution and hand-over of large Capex investment projects in SGIE Engineering Services Visp within safety, cost, schedule, quality and functionality. This includes the capability to manage and to provide the leadership to interdisciplinary project teams as well as the capability to interact with the senior management. This role is at a Senior Manager level and has operative leadership of large infrastructure projects in the range of CHF 20 - 160 MM.

Key responsibilities:

- Deliver capital projects on schedule, within budget and according to specifications / functionality.
- Conduct regular engineering and project control reviews with the project team in order to ensure that the project execution is on track and to identify and implement remedial action in case of any deviation from project objectives.
- Ensure that the adequate project control systems needed to manage the risk, cost and schedule are timely in place.
- Support the evaluation and set-up of capital projects by providing Engineering support and developing the project execution strategy and the contractual framework.
- Has accountability for assigned projects / engineering work, including adequate staffing, coaching and supervising of project teams in matrix organizations.
- Ensure the implementation of the state-of-the-art technical solutions and compliance with internal and external quality, safety and ecology standards.
- Ensure the successful hand-over of the projects to the user-teams including the right level of training and correct documentation.

Key requirements:

- Extensive engineering experience thereof some years in capital projects in international environment
- Successful project management and leadership experience on major investment projects in international environment
- Excellent project management skills including contract management
- Broad project controlling and project appraisal knowledge
- Extended HSE knowledge
- Fluency in German and English is required
