**Process Chemist (M/F/d)**

**JOB PURPOSE**:

- The Process Chemist is responsible for various aspects of process, development and optimization including scale-up of production processes and improvement of new and well-established production steps in terms of yield, quality, cost etc.

**JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Optimize continuously chemical production processes in terms of e.g., yield, safety, costs, quality, capacity, ecology
- Review and checking competitiveness of production procedures by networking with different functions, like international sourcing and production
- Transfer of new & established processes from e.g., laboratories, other sites or production plants to new production or pilot plants
- Management and leading a laboratory team - Initiate and consult on projects in order to improve competitiveness of production processes
- Provide chemical expertise, consultancy and propose quick solutions in trouble shooting
- Management of relevant data of the assigned processes e.g., general process data, thermal stability, corrosion, safety, waste water etc.
- Be part of the extended leadership team, support the site strategy and drive cultural development activities
- Keep up with changes of internal and external regulatory requirements
- Document know how and protect IP, e.g., by writing patents and reports
- Screen and evaluate chemical literature and patents to secure competitiveness
- Support analytical department
- Communication in respective function and with main interfaces
- Ensure compliance with external and internal rules and regulations

**WHO YOU ARE**:

- Higher degree MSc/HTL in Natural Science and PhD
- In depth knowledge of organic chemistry, analytical chemistry (e.g., HPLC, GC, NMR) and synthetic chemistry are a must
- Knowledge of process measuring and control technology
- Broad experience in development and optimization of chemical processes is a plus
- Strong Leadership and communication skills
- Good ability to work cross functionally
- Innovative and strategic mindset
- Highly self-motivated, team player and analytical thinker
- High customer focus and out-of-the-box-thinker who is passionate about questioning the status quo and coming up with creative, lean and fast solutions
- Fluent in German and English is a must. Any other languages are a plus
