To strengthen our Global Health, Safety and Wellbeing department, based in Brussels, Belgium, we are looking to fill the Global Health and Wellbeing Lead position. This role will be devoted to transversally drive the implementation of global Health and Wellbeing programs, ensuring a consistent approach across UCB’s operations and sites, hereto liaising with Talent, Sustainability, and all operating sites and local HSE departments.

**As a UCB Global Health and Wellbeing Lead you are accountable for UCB achieving and maintaining the highest standards in the health and wellbeing of its employees by**:

- Defining, coordinating, and transversally driving the implementation of global Health and Wellbeing ambition, strategy and supporting programs; ensuring a consistent approach across UCB’s operations and sites, aligned with the sustainability framework, considering the specific risk profiles in collaboration with Talent and Sustainability departments and all operational departments and local HSE representatives
- Ensuring the entire value chain and all aspects of health are covered by the above ambition, strategy, and related programs, including industrial hygiene, exposure to physical, chemical, and biological agents as well as mental health
- Acting and innovating as a change agent to promote Health and Wellbeing and embed them in UCB’s way of working
- Leveraging collaboration with stakeholders internal and external to UCB to identify key contributors to the physical and mental health of our employees, and their links to commonly considered lagging indicators (such as absenteeism rates, staff turnover, resignation, occupational diseases), to define the appropriate strategy and engage the organization
- Establishing annual roadmaps, action plans, CAPEX and OPEX budgets, to support the above global Health and Wellbeing ambition
- Defining a common framework including standards and other reference documents to continuously improve UCB HSWB Management System robustness
- Implementing the necessary governances and associated network, key processes, and KPI’s to support the above and ensure periodic reporting and analysis of performance and trends
- Identifying and addressing new challenges and the way to smartly integrate them to answer UCB’s or societal changes
- Ensuring potential Life Changing Activities in the above scope are managed according to the UCB requirements throughout the entire organization

**As a UCB Global Health and Wellbeing Lead, you will contribute by**:

- Defining strategy and targets to support UCB HSWB ambition
- Supporting UCB teams and individuals through appropriate framework and HSWB expertise
- Providing HSWB performance and risks oversight and assurance
- Screening the regulatory context in which UCB is operating, to ensure UCB is aware and understands the potential impact of evolving HSWB-related regulatory requirements.
- Externally representing UCB at Industry Associations such as EFPIA, Essentia or the Conference Board, etc.
- Performing due diligence and compliance audits of UCB’s CMO’s and internal sites to verify compliance with HS&E legal requirements, recognized standards and UCB’s HSE ambition and to ensure that the operations performed on behalf of UCB meet the expected HSE performance.
- Ensuring the consistent implementation of Global Industrial Hygiene strategy at Global and site level, and cascading this to the UCB Industrial Hygiene programme (covering the workers’ exposure monitoring to chemical & biological agents, LAA, exposure to noise, ergonomics,.) and on reducing exposure by ensuring the systematic integration of the hierarchy of controls in the design phase of new installations
- Identifying best practices applied at site level to manage Industrial Hygiene and leverage them across UCB (through their integrating in UCB standards etc.) for continuous improvement.
- Ensuring strong follow-up and reporting of the program deployment & progress
- Ensuring consistency with the environmental, sustainability and talent programs and create bridges to synergize and contribute to our UCB common ambitions

**Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience, and skills**:

- At least 5 years of experience in a multinational industrial/manufacturing environment.
- HSE generalist able to work on environmental, safety and health issues.
- Good understanding of (eco)toxicity testing.
- Good knowledge of REACH, CLP(GHS) and international transportation regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of industry best practices related to Industrial Hygiene and/or the network and willingness to acquire this knowledge
