About the team you are joining

Reporting to the Director External Affairs, the incumbent will lead a small team who's job it is to promote the IATA Worldwide Airport Slot Guidelines as the globally recognized standard for allocating and managing capacity and congested airports around the world.

What your day would be like
- Advocate for the IATA Worldwide Airport Slot Guidelines (WASG) to continue to be accepted by key stakeholders as the single method of allocating capacity at congested (i.e. slot controlled) airports worldwide. This will include:

- Working closely with IATA's member airlines to ensure that IATA is correctly representing their needs on slot related issues
- Working with airports and slot coordinators to ensure that the WASG continually evolve in order to be fit for purpose
- Engaging directly with aviation regulators to advocate for slot regulations that are aligned with the WASG, thus ensuring a single global approach to slot allocation
- Provide the Secretariat function to the IATA Slot Policy Working Group (SPWG) i.e. managing meetings, agendas and necessary work programs
- Lead the cost effective management of the twice annual Slot Conference
- Manage a team of 5 people
- Identify new commercial products/services related to slots and support IATA's commercial team to develop and deliver those products where needed

We would love to hear from you if you

Have previous experience at a senior level in airline schedule planning or airline operations or leadership of the slot coordination process as an Airport Coordinator or management of airport infrastructure development.

Display proven advocacy skills including the ability to engage positively with senior government and aviation industry stakeholders.

Have experience of leading a team, have excellent verbal and written communication skill and are fluent in the English language.
