A broad pipeline of next-generation medicines is focused principally on four disease areas - breast, ovarian, lung and haematological cancers. As well as other tumour types, these are being targeted through four key platforms - immunotherapy, the genetic drivers of cancer and resistance, DNA damage response, and antibody drug conjugates, underpinned by personalized healthcare and biomarker technologies.

**What you’ll do**

As the International Associate Medical Director for Lung Cancer, you will play a pivotal role in channelling our scientific capabilities in novel ways to make a positive impact on improving patients' lives. The role will be split between ensuring the prelaunch and launch medical readiness within the area across the International region for one of our pivotal brands and the exciting opportunity is to lead on the International Medical Teams efforts for our above brand, high profile Lung Ambition Alliance Projects. Working cross functionally in both the region and its countries to drive the delivery of medical objectives and build the medical capabilities and competencies in the teams. But also with our external partners and with healthcare providers to enhance access to Lung Cancer diagnosis

Locations: Zug, Switzerland, Shanghai, China, Singapore or AZ International office locations
- Design the International medical strategy for lung cancer as well as co-create the regional brand strategy together with the commercial lead ensuring the commercial and medical strategies are fully aligned on key objectives.
- Lead and coordinate the prelaunch/launch planning and activities across International for lung cancers with a focus on one of our key brands for the region
- Works cross-functionally to provide the medical input and expertise for Regional Commercial, Regulatory, and Market Access functions.
- Support and influence the key area/country medical teams, ensuring they have the proper training, skill set and knowledge to deliver high quality medical affairs communication and activities, so meeting the brand objectives.
- Drive close collaboration with global and regional teams to ensure the needs of the region are shared and understood and stay informed on latest strategies and priorities
- Develop and manage relationships with the relevant key external experts, and other external stakeholders with the common objective to improve health outcomes in the region
- Develop, manage and oversee above-country activities and projects including evidence generation, external medical education and insight gathering to fill identified gaps (data or education)

**Essential for the role**
- You have an advance degree preferably, a PhD in a scientific discipline or MD
- Proven years of experience in medical affairs including country and leadership experience of strategic medical planning, launch planning and execution
- Solid experience in team management and project management
- Therapy area knowledge and/or experience in solid tumour oncology (lung cancer preferred)
- Extensive experience in collaboration with external parties and managing cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
- Solid business understanding and acumen
- Knowledge of the regulatory and compliance framework in which we operate
