- St George's International School is a co-educational, independent school, accredited by CIS and located at the foot of the mountains and at the doorstep of the lake, the school offers a unique school setting at the heart of the Swiss Riviera with an extraordinary workplace environment.
- Around 400 students between the ages of 18 months and 18 years are registered here (day students and boarders from age 10+ coming from more than 60 nationalities). - St. George’s International School is seeking to appoint an Assistant Houseparent to join our dedicated boarding team in January 2025. The role is a non-teaching, residential post with accommodation provided.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a young boarding professional with a strong background in pastoral care and safeguarding to contribute to our boarding programme. The ability to understand and enjoy multi-culturalism is a key requirement of this post. The Assistant Houseparent will primarily work with the girls in the Boarding House.
The Assistant Houseparent role is vital in ensuring the wellbeing of all the boarders at school, by fostering a warm, homely, supportive and caring environment for the students in which all boarders are able to flourish.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- The Assistant Houseparent will work closely with the Head of Boarding. Day to day duties will include but not be limited to:
- Being an adult presence during agreed hours and covering emergencies.
- Promote actively student wellbeing and create an environment where each student feels supported and nurtured. To be proactive in creating an environment where each boarder is able to flourish.
- Ensure the safety and physical and emotional care of students by providing basic first aid and referral to the school nurse if medical advice is required.
- Schedule medical appointments for boarders
- Schedule airport transfers and accompanying students to medical appointments if necessary.

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**:
**Skills and previous experience**
- Experience with children
- Experience in a Boarding school
- Ability to understand and enjoy multi culturalism
- IT skills (MS Office)
**Qualifications and Accreditations**
- Educated to degree level
- Clean and full driving licence
- Appropriate right to work in Switzerland
- NQTS or equivalent (desirable)
- Degree in Education (desirable)
