**About this Role**
As a Digital Lab Manager at our Basel facility, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the field of digital pathology through the management of our state-of-the-art Whole Slide Imaging (WSI) laboratory. This role is central to our mission of transforming pathology through digital technology, ensuring that we provide high-quality, efficient, and innovative services to our stakeholders.
In this position, you will oversee the digitization of pathology slides, ensuring that our scanning processes are of the highest quality and efficiency. Your expertise will guide the seamless upload and storage of digital slides to our cloud-based systems, maintaining the integrity and security of critical data. You will develop and monitor key performance indicators to continually enhance our digitization processes, aligning with our commitment to excellence and innovation.
**About this Role (Responsibilities)**:
- Oversee the entire process of pathology slide scanning, ensuring high-resolution images and accurate digital reproduction.
- Manage the upload and storage of digital slides to cloud-based systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the digitization process, including scan quality, turnaround times, and system reliability.
- Ensure digital scanning processes comply with Swiss data protection laws, particularly in the context of patient data handling (e.g., Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP)).
- Implement and oversee a quality management system that aligns with Swissmedic requirements and international standards like ISO 15189.
- Collaborate with IT specialists to ensure the seamless integration of scanning technology with existing digital infrastructure and to troubleshoot any technical issues.
- Act as the primary liaison with the property management company, ensuring that the facility meets the specific needs of a high-tech digital pathology lab.
- Coordinate with service providers to ensure that all aspects of the facility, including power, networking, and environmental controls, are optimal for lab operations.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the lab, ensuring that the environment is conducive to high-quality digital imaging and employee well-being.
- Manage contracts and relationships with the property management company and service providers, ensuring that services are delivered as per the agreed standards and expectations.
**Key Competencies**
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, as well as demonstrate complex products.
- Presentation Skills: Proficiency in delivering engaging and informative product demonstrations to various stakeholders.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the product features, industry standards, and technical aspects relevant to the role.
- Knowledge of Swiss regulatory landscape for digital pathology, including Swissmedic guidelines, data protection laws, and relevant ISO standards.
- Experience in working within a regulatory framework that includes Swiss federal and cantonal laws related to healthcare and digital data management.
- Proficiency in digital imaging technologies and software used in pathology, with a strong understanding of their compliance requirements in the Swiss context.
