The Health Services Research Group is looking for a highly motivated Research Fellow for an ambitious patient safety project in cancer care led by Prof. Dr. David Schwappach and Prof. Dr. Sofia Zambrano.
**This project, funded by Swiss Cancer Research, explores preventable, psychological harm as a patient safety topic.** You will develop a framework, definitions and expert consensus on psychological safety events in cancer care. Based on this, the frequency and severity, as well as potential predictors and consequences will be empirically investigated from different perspectives. You will help improve knowledge on harmful psychological events in cancer patients and contribute to the quality and safety of cancer care.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Conceptualize a framework, definitions, and measures of psychological patient safety events
- Field work
- Develop, conduct and analyze complex national and international surveys
- Write scientific publications and present results to clinicians, other stakeholders and at national and international conferences;
- Project management, including meeting milestones, and budget and time requirements
Qualifications and skills:
- PhD in a relevant discipline (psychology, social sciences, nursing sciences, medicine, public health)
- Experience in health services research, in particular mixed methods, and publications in this field
- Strong interest in applied research in patient safety
- Strong conceptual thinker, analytical skills
- Very good organizational skills, the ability to work efficiently, independently, as well as in multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication in German and English
