The company’s short-term priorities include building up out of engineering team, putting into place production facilities, and creating a north American subsidiary.
**About the role**
The Mechanical Engineer reports to the Head of Aircraft Integration.
At an aircraft level, this role creates mechanical designs for the installation of electrical propulsion components into aircraft and will require the modification of the aircraft to accommodate such an installation
- Creation of compliance demonstration material such as engineering analysis
- Creation of Aircraft level Functional Hazard Assessment
- Work alongside maintenance teams to capture their feedback in design
- Create designs which are light weight, cost efficient and designed for manufacture
- Ensuring manufacturability and integration of design
- Substantiate designs with sound engineering practices and calculations.
- Monitor and complete problem reports and change requests.
- Give experienced feedback on observations, questions and concerns through proper channels promptly
- Seek out and attend job related training opportunities
**Your profile**
- University degree or 10+ years of experience in design and validation of mechanical components and assemblies
- Familiar with FAA Advisory Circulars related to aircraft modification and maintenance.
- Familiar with EASA Certification Specification on aircraft maintenance
- Hands on experience with manufacturing or maintenance
- Experience with certification documentation
- Motivated self-starter
- Organized and precise
- Quality focused
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Fluent written and spoken English (French is a plus)
