As a Medical Information Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the Medical Information databases and systems, ensuring all enquiries receive accurate and medically sound responses while meeting regulatory and legal requirements. **Join us in supporting the provision of Medical Information to AbbVie’s internal and external customers**

**About the role**

The Medical Information Manager is a member of the Medical team and part of PV and Medical Information Team. The Medical Information manager supports the provision of Medical Information to AbbVie’s internal and external customers. Primarily responsibilities include managing the Medical Information databases and systems, providing the highest quality medical information service to healthcare professionals and patients.

To ensure co-operation, you will closely work with Medical, Clinical trial, Market Access, Brand teams and you will liaise with a wide range of academic, managerial and administrative staff at AbbVie.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Enhance a centralized medical Information system for all products of AbbVie Switzerland
- Maintain medical Information system fulfilling the needs of our organization as well as local laws and regulations
- Participate in convention and scientific meetings within Medical Department
- Identify trends in relation to the Medical Information databases, create insights and report to Medical Department while making strategic use of medical data generated in medical information and pharmacovigilance
- Support Medical and Commercial departments with the updating, creation and maintenance of safety summaries for promotional materials
- Develop scientific arguments/background for marketing activities
- Strategic support in developing and maintaining strong cross-functional communication with Brand departments. Brand Team interaction: Regular participation in brand team meetings, provide Safety and MI insights & trends as well as background info; Being a strategic business partner with dedicated Product Safety Expert
- Write and implement Standard Operating Procedure or Guideline for Medical Information at AbbVie Switzerland
- Ensure provision of balanced and unbiased written and/or verbal information about AbbVie products corresponding therapeutic areas of AbbVie products in response to an unsolicited request from physicians, pharmacists, patients, health insurances, other health care professionals or public persons
- Ensure tracking and documentation of inquiries and responses in validated and effective medical information query management database
- Support and train the Medical Department of AbbVie and all commercial colleagues and other customer facing employees in Medical Information processes
- Cooperate with vendors in terms of Medical Information
- Act as contact person also internationally for medical information systems in the Swiss Affiliate
- Develop and give presentations for medical professionals and pharmacists
- Screen literature
- Handle and answer questions from doctors and patients

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- University degree, preferably in a relevant scientific discipline
- First relevant experience within a Medial Affairs organization highly preferred
- Understanding of Medical terminology
- Customer focus, a friendly and professional service at all times
- Effective communication and customer service skills, including the ability to effectively listen, problem solve, quickly define solutions and follow-up on commitments
- Strong computers skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office, ability to quickly learn new technical skills and adapt to new systems and tools
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to ask appropriate questions to lead to alternative ideas or quality results
- Looks toward the broadest possible view of an issue/challenge; can easily pose future scenarios
- Ability to organize multiple activities at once to accomplish individual and departmental goals, while using resources effectively a
