We are looking to hire a talented Molecular Microbiologist (M/F/d) 100% for one of our well-known Swiss bio-pharmaceutical clients in the Basel region.

**Your challenges**
- Engage in exciting mode of action studies using genetic engineering of bacterial/fungal strains.
- Develop and implement innovative cell-based assays for profiling new antibiotics and antifungals effectively.
- Participate in target validation studies and profiling of novel compounds with thorough analysis of results.
- Contribute to the expansion of our anti-infectives pipeline by proposing and driving your own projects.
- Take charge of the maintenance and operation of our biology lab.
- Manage external collaborations to enhance our research endeavors.
- Document your findings in our notebooks and create method and data summaries.
- Present your groundbreaking results in group meetings and to external audiences.

**Your skills**
- Hold a PhD in microbiology, molecular biology, or genetics, with a focus on genetics for dissecting biological phenomena.
- Be familiar with cutting-edge technology for genetic engineering of bacteria and/or fungi.
- Possess experience in the fields of antibacterial and antifungals, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Previous exposure to anti-infective drug discovery is a definite plus.
- Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Stay focused and prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring quality work.
- Showcase good communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English, and German proficiency is desirable but not required.
