**Postdoc Position (Doktoratsassistenz, 75%, 5-year fixed term) from 1. January 2024**
**in the Division of Sociology, Social Policy and Social Work, University of Fribourg, Switzerland**
We are offering an attractive position for a postdoctoral researcher in our interdisciplinary division of sociology, social policy and social work. We are an international team with quantitative, qualitative and mixed-methods expertise researching a broad array of social issues in global perspective and drawing on sociological, social policy and social work approaches.
The position entails:
- Conducting independent research and collaborating in research activities at the Department
- Contributing to the Department’s BA and MA degree programmes in Sociology and Social Policy with the teaching of 1-2 courses per academic year, including co-teaching of quantitative data analysis
- Supervision of student projects on BA and MA level
**Requirements**:
- Doctorate/PhD in the social sciences, sociology or social policy
- Thematic fit of research interests with the research orientations at the Department
- Excellent knowledge of quantitative methods; openness to qualitative and mixed-methods approaches
- Experience with research projects, including research conducting quantitative data analyses
- Ability to work flexibly and independently
- Proficiency in German (fluent in speech and writing) and good English skills; French language skills desirable
The salary is set in accordance with the remuneration regulations of the Canton Fribourg. This is a 5-year fixed term contract.
