The Biozentrum of the University of Basel is one of the leading life sciences institutes in the world. It consists of 30 groups and 500 employees that research how molecules and cells create life, spanning the scale from atom to organism. Founded in 1971, the Biozentrum has been the birth place of many fundamental discoveries in biology and medicine, spawning several Nobel Laureates.

The research group of Timm Maier is looking for a Computational Chemist. Main focus of the research is to understand the structure and function of large regulatory assemblies, such as the mammalian target-of-rapamycin (mTOR) complex. This position is linked to a translational project to discover and develop small molecule inhibitors for novel therapies.

- Molecular modeling and docking
- Structure
- and ligand-based drug design
- Virtual screening
- Communication with Contract Research Organizations CROs and Medicinal Chemistry collaborators

**Your profile**
- You have a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry or related field with a strong background in Computer Aided Drug Design (CADD)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team
