The Interchain Foundation stewards a vast ecosystem of decentralized technologies. We develop and maintain foundational protocols, and fund organizations to create an internet of shared resources, security, and value creation. Through our grants, investments, and ecosystem stewardship, we are shaping a new technological paradigm that is open-source, interoperable, and community-owned.

We’re headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, but our team stretches from the US to eastern Europe. We work through Slack and Zoom, and meet in person when we can.

**About the role**

Corporate Council at the Interchain Foundation is a high-impact role in a unique, fast-paced environment.

ICF is not a traditional non-profit. We are part of a large ecosystem of organizations and companies working to bring the interchain - an internet of blockchains - to life. Our main priority is expanding the reach and impact of the Interchain Stack.

A day in this role will touch on multiple domains including working with our in-house marketing team, analyzing legal issues to determine business upside vs. risk, and collaborating with globally distributed product teams building cutting edge software.

We are looking for a qualified and motivated Corporate Counsel to join our growing team.

**What you'll do**:

- Ensure legality and compliance of the Interchain Foundation.
- Support and implement a legal strategy suited to our operating environment and context.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of corporate/commercial agreements such as service agreements and vendor agreements
- Advise and support the Board of Management and Board of Directors on complex legal issues across domains (Marketing, Product, Finance) and jurisdictions.
- Develope, implement, and maintain a strategic knowledge management plan:

- Processes, procedures and best practices for storage of agreements,
- Knowledge repository of templates, forms, guidance materials and checklists, memoranda, presentations and other knowledge assets and work product
- Support legal work for strategic transactions such as investments, M&A, partnerships & general corporate governance.
- Familiarity with IP (Intellectual Property)
- Provide practical analyses on legal issues and risks that enable the organization optimize tradeoffs between business upside and legal risk
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional product teams

**Who you are**:

- 5+ years of relevant corporate legal experience at a leading law firm or comparable in-house practice
- Keen attention to detail, highly organized, and process-driven
- Excellent project management, negotiation, drafting, and time management skills
- Excellent judgment, analytic rigor, and business pragmatism
- Strong analytical skills; able to identify problems and recommend solutions
- Thrive in a fast-paced working environment with rapidly shifting priorities and needs
- Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver results in a cross-functional team environment
- Highly curious; fast learner

**Is a plus**:

- Admission in a EU country, US or commonwealth jurisdiction is an asset;
- Work experience in blockchain
