The Role
As Moderna continues to rapidly grow, we are searching for an experienced and innovative Senior Talent Acquisition leader to spearhead recruitment for Moderna’s presence throughout Europe, Middle East and Canada. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the talent acquisition strategy for a broad, complex area of the business and lead/mentor/develop a fantastic team of recruiters. This leader will own TA strategy and leadership search for the entire region and work closely with the regional GM leaders, functional country leaders and HRBP teams. This role is part of the global TA leadership team and will require a high level of collaboration with our functional TA leaders, Talent Attraction/Operations, and HR Business Partners.

This hands-on leadership role will relentlessly keep a high talent bar for Moderna, tenaciously hunt the best players in our industry (globally) and be a strong and visible talent business partner to Moderna leaders across the region - with additional future expansion expected. They will also lead a team of ambitious talent acquisition partners in Switzerland and Poland, with a focus on coaching, feedback and robust development. Here’s What You’ll Do

Partner with senior leadership to own and evolve full life cycle recruiting efforts for our regional markets. This includes creation and ownership of an innovative regional TA strategy, along with hands on headcount management and demand planning skills to anticipate and plan for hiring proactively.

Lead a small team that is geographically aligned and ensure development, belonging and diversity are top priority to enable the team to thrive and develop as we continue to scale.

Leverage external and internal talent data to best inform hiring managers and guide them to make smart hiring decisions against Moderna’s Mindsets

Manage recruiting demand and proactively assess recruitment volume and headcount planning during budget cycles using data and analysis for decision making.

Proactively develop strong ongoing partnerships with Moderna HR Business Partners, Finance and Total Rewards teams.

Be bold in creating new ideas to identify, engage, attract, and assess talent into Moderna.

Operate cross-functionally with both local and global leaders as to drive decision-making, be accountable for progress, and proactively offer pre-emptive support

Be the global SME for TA across the region.

Ability to collaborate in person with your teams - and travel as needed within the region and occasional travel to our US headquarters.

Additional duties may be assigned from time to time.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum 12 years of experience in Talent Acquisition (at least 8 of which should be in a corporate, in-house leadership role managing, developing, and promoting talent acquisition partners across multiple countries).

Experience leading recruitment in a high-growth global biotech or pharma company.

Experience in conducting in-house leadership searches across multiple functional areas (R&D, Operations and Corporate Functions, in addition to Commercial/Medical).

Cultural understanding of different countries and markets, and track record of recruiting locally within these geographies.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

Fluent English capabilities (written and spoken).

Experience defining and executing a regional TA strategy for multiple areas of the business. At Moderna, our leaders act with dynamic range and flex from strategy to execution constantly. We also have a very non-traditional approach to our Commercial and Medical org design - so thinking outside the traditional pharma framework is important.

Digital-first mindset - we digitize everywhere possible, and this role requires the ability to story-tell through data, find opportunities for automation, and the desire to leverage technology to make recruiting smarter, faster and differentiated at Moderna.

Exceptional communication skills and ability to nuance communications for different audiences.

Experience leading highly confidential searches - including partnering with retained search partners or internal executive search teams.

Proven experience with advanced level Excel and PowerPoint in order to influence decision-making and provide compelling story telling,
