This role will provide pragmatic guidance and solutions related to Edwards’ Global Compliance Program to European commercial, medical affairs, and marketing groups as well as functional stakeholders. Relevant compliance areas include Edwards’ global business practice framework, in particular on interactions with Health Care Professionals, as well as local and regional healthcare related legal, regulatory and industry standards. The position will also act as healthcare compliance expert related to French compliance questions and will provide guidance on European anti-trust and competition questions.

By establishing strong and proactive relationships with business leaders at European and local level, this role acts as a strategic thought partner for Edwards’ European business groups and will develop and implement Compliance strategies, which will enable business success and promote patient wellbeing.

In close collaboration with other functions (e.g. Legal, HR, Regulatory, Internal Audit, Finance, etc) this role handles complex Compliance issues in-line with legal-, industry
- or internal standards, and communicates to the appropriate levels within the organization (functionally and with business partners).

This role will further engage with relevant external compliance stakeholders and support the business and medical affairs groups in customer interactions as appropriate to ensure compliance of the unit’s business practices.

**Job functions**:
Act as proactive business partner to the different groups related to Ethics & Compliance topics to enable business success.
Drive efforts to optimize HCP-related policies, processes and systems by identifying issues, combining global best practices (e.g., inside and outside of EW) and developing, proposing and implementing solutions. Influence outcomes and resolutions with business leadership.
Act as Compliance expert on specific Compliance topics and/or areas (e.g. Leading the French compliance program; provide guidance on competition and anti-kick-back regulations).
Drive and ensure a culture of ethics and compliance in assigned region. Role model Edwards’ compliance value & behaviors.
Set strategy by assessing compliance requirements as well as business exigencies, and propose and implement lasting solutions. Ensure strong collaboration and alignment within the function (EMEACLA & Global Compliance team) and cross-functionally (e.g. Legal, HR, Finance, Internal Audit, Regulatory).
Ensure appropriate governance around compliance matters and actively participate in compliance related discussion and committees (e.g. Grant committee or similar).
Support monitoring and auditing of compliance with policies and procedures and ensure remediation plans and actions are executed. Support investigations of alleged misconduct and violations of policy, ensure consistent processing, treatment, and corrective actions within assigned region.
Support EMEACLA Regional Compliance VP on selected regional projects and initiatives.
Conduct and analyze business related risk assessments.

**Qualification**:
Legal background i(e.g. Master in Law), preferable with bar certification.

**Required skills**:
Knowledgeable of French healthcare regulation rules and able to provide guidance on external procedures;
Experienced in analyzing, and developing business strategy from a competition and anti-kickback/anti-corruption perspective;
Full professional work proficiency in English; Any additional European language (in particular French) is a plus;
Expert understanding of effective compliance program standards;
Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization;
Expert understanding of procedures with extensive and detailed knowledge of company allows for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas
Ability to support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the organization
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
Proven successful project management skills
