Zurich, Schweiz Linguistic Research Infrastructure Vollzeit

Linguistic Research Infrastructure_
**Participant Recruiter**
**40-60 % **:The Linguistic Research Infrastructure (LiRI) is a technology platform established at the University of Zurich to support and promote cutting-edge research in linguistics and related fields. LiRI offers laboratory facilities for experimental research, equipment for data acquisition, and services in the fields of statistics, machine learning and language technology. We are looking for a Participant Recruiter to provide services for researchers using the LiRI laboratory. The position is initially limited to one year, with the possibility to be extended.

**Your responsibilities**: As Participant Recruiter, you will be primarily responsible for facilitating the recruitment of study participants for various studies conducted in the LiRI lab. This encompasses two main tasks: establishing and recruiting participants to LiRI's internal participant pools as well as recruiting participants directly for specific studies where participants may come from a special or hard to recruit population.

This role will require you to seek out potential participants, contact them, explain the potential studies in basic terms to them and gather the information necessary for them to be invited to take part in a study. This may involve visiting social groups like 'mother and baby' groups or pensioners groups in person to make initial contact.

In addition, you will also be required to assist in screening participants based on questionnaire, both electronically and over the phone to ensure that they meet the requirements for participating in a study and scheduling the experiment.

You will independently create promotional materials in consultation with researchers and the lab manager, help build the LiRI participant pool and maintain databases. You will act as an interface between researchers and study participants and in this role will also deal with inquiries from the public.

You will work closely with LiRI's lab manager as well as directly with researchers where necessary.

**Your profile**: You are an outgoing person who can interact respectfully and empathetically with many different populations such as the elderly and parents of young children. You have excellent communicative skills, orally and in writing. You will have a university degree, ideally in language science, psychology, or a related field. Some experience in collecting data from participants drawn from the public would be an advantage.

You are creative, proactive, and work accurately. From a technical point of view, you will be familiar with the use of databases for the structured collection of information. If you are familiar with electronic record capture or survey systems like RedCap, this would be an asset.

You will have a sound understanding of data protection regulations in Switzerland.

**Language requirements**
Communication is a key aspect of this role. Therefore, particularly good Swiss German and English language skills and the ability to communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds are essential. You must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing basic information about a study with potential participants and conduct screening interviews if necessary. Knowledge of another Swiss national language is an advantage.

**What we offer**: We offer you an interesting and responsible position in an exciting and dynamically developing research environment, supported by a highly motivated, interdisciplinary, and open-minded team providing services to researchers.

Initially your future office workplace will be located on the UZH Campus Oerlikon at Andreasstrasse 15 in Zurich, but once you are established in the role you will be able to transition working from home. You may also be called on to attend external appointments at institutions and facilities where target groups are present, for example mother/father and baby groups.

**Place of work**: Andreasstrasse 15, 8050 Zürich
