A family living in Colgony Geneva expecting a second child at the end of September is looking for a live-in English speaker Maternity Nurse 24/7 for a 3 moths period.
A maternity nurse, also known as a newborn care specialist or a baby nurse, is a healthcare professional who specializes in caring for newborn babies and their mothers during the first few weeks or months after delivery. The job of a maternity nurse typically involves the following:
- Providing support to new mothers: Maternity nurses help new mothers adjust to the demands of motherhood by offering emotional and physical support, advice, and guidance on breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the baby: Maternity nurses are responsible for monitoring the baby's vital signs, administering medications if necessary, and ensuring that the baby is comfortable and well-fed.
- Educating parents on newborn care: Maternity nurses teach parents how to bathe, dress, and care for their newborns, as well as how to recognize signs of illness or distress in the baby.
- Assisting with breastfeeding: Maternity nurses help new mothers with breastfeeding by providing guidance, support, and advice on proper latching and feeding techniques.
- Documenting and reporting on the baby's progress: Maternity nurses keep detailed records of the baby's progress, including weight, feeding habits, and any health concerns, and report these to the doctor or midwife.
**Requirements**:
- Swiss/EU passport of Swiss Permit
- Strong job references
- Experience as a Maternity Nurse of at least 4-5 years
- Available to work live-in 24/7.
- English speaker
