To drive our ambition to be the best-in-class public affairs function in Swiss industry, our team seeks support from a career starter with ambition to grow in Swiss political affairs and the life sciences sector. Is this for you? As a member of the Swiss Public Affairs team, you will be part of the company's expert function for all political issues that affect Novartis in this country. As a curious and talented communicator, you will support the team in its diverse policy and advocacy activities at the interface of Novartis, politics, and society. The Swiss Public Affairs team offers an opportunity for hands-on learning in an environment that values autonomous working, enables collaboration with different functions across Novartis’ organization, and supports professional development.
Major accountabilities:
- Monitor and analyze relevant political developments on national and cantonal level.
- Draft newsletter articles and compile information for weekly policy updates for senior management.
- Gather data in support of answering to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, and to shape trade associations’ policies.
- Prepare briefings and presentations for stakeholder engagements
- Contribute to position papers and advocacy strategies.
- Drive smaller projects autonomously, taking into account your own ideas and interests

**Minimum requirements**
What you'll bring to the role:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in political sciences, law, economics, humanities, life sciences, medicine, or similar. The position could be combined with doing a master's or doctoral studies
- In-depth knowledge of and interest to grow in the Swiss political system, its institutions and policy processes
- Languages: Native or equivalently fluent in German and an advanced level of English are a must; French is a plus
- Autonomous working habits, excellent writing and communication skills, an open mind, and a collaborative spirit
- No professional experience in the field of Public Affairs required; however, international perspective, past working experience, own political engagement, as well as knowledge about healthcare and pharma are considered a plus
