This role requires specialism in investigation technics to conduct and facilitate root cause analysis related to aviation hazards and incidents, by gathering and analysing data, determining causes and drawing conclusions with the aim of preventing future incidents.
Close collaboration with the related business functions is essential to identify and understand the root causes and possible failures to define areas of improvement and build lessons learned.
Your tasks
- Manage occurrence investigations of hazards and incidents as lead investigator
- Coach and facilitate investigation teams in the undertaking of investigations into reported hazards and incidents across Engine Operation
- Support Engine Operation in the close loop process for quality related findings to develop effective preventive action plans for safety hazards and incidents
- Investigate incidents of a singular occurrence or multiple events of a systematic nature by identifying main influence factors and trends using HFACS
- Provide investigation reports that establish and document relevant facts and conclusions with the aim of preventing future incidents
- Create incident investigation dashboards using available data
- Support lean continuous improvement with aiming for failure costs reduction, efficient and effective processes and procedures
- Identify emerging risk areas within Engine Operation that are identified through hazard and incident reporting and taking appropriate steps to ensure these are addressed or brought to the attention of responsible management
- Work across all parts of Engine Operation with an emphasis on collaboration that brings focus on safety outcomes and development of the safety management system
- Ensures that the investigation of hazards and incidents is maintained in accordance with the standards detailed within the aviation safety management system manual
- Maintain and enhance knowledge of investigation skills and investigative processes and procedures to identify gaps and define effective preventive measures
**Profile**:
- Technical degree or equal education
- Knowledge in aviation safety-related investigation and its technics
- Knowledge of regulation applicable to the aviation incident investigation process
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Working experience in an aviation maintenance environment
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in a similar role
- Good German and English knowledge (C1)
